"The North American Korean Philosophy Association (NAKPA) is holding its 11th Annual conference at University of Hildesheim (Universität Hildesheim), Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, Germany, Oct 5-6, 2026. This year the conference will be hosted by the Global Philosophy Center at Hildesheim under the auspices of Prof. Sool Park. Please read more for the submission guidelines and more information on the special issue.The annual conference for this year will be devoted to:"
"In view of the emerging importance of Non-Western philosophy, papers that focus on philosophical topics related to comparative Korean/Asian/Non-Western philosophy as well as intercultural philosophy are welcomed. Themes could be from traditional and contemporary Korean philosophy such as emotions, che-yong, Confucian learning, Buddhist meditation etc. Comparative topics stemming from Islam (sufism etc), Hinduism (advaita) or African/Africana philosophy (ubuntu, etc) would be welcomed as well."
NAKPA will hold its 11th annual conference Oct 5–6, 2026 at Universität Hildesheim in Lower Saxony, Germany, hosted by the Global Philosophy Center. The theme is Korean Philosophy: From a Comparative and Intercultural Perspective, welcoming papers on comparative Korean/Asian/Non-Western and intercultural philosophy, including traditional and contemporary topics such as emotions, che-yong, Confucian learning, and Buddhist meditation. Comparative work involving Islam, Hinduism, or African/Africana philosophy is also invited. Submit a 200-word abstract with title and affiliation to Prof. Halla Kim by March 31, 2026; authors will be notified by April 15. Keynote speaker: Professor Yannick Bruneton (Université Paris Cité). Meals, refreshments, and partial accommodation will be provided; graduate students are encouraged to apply.
