The Many Worlds of HBO's "The Sympathizer"
Briefly

We meet the confessor, narrator, and protagonist in a makeshift prison camp in Vietnam. His words are a self-justification and a story about the loss of home... Displacement is at the center of The Sympathizer, always in flux.
The unnamed protagonist is a double agent, caught between being a captain in the US-backed secret police of South Vietnam and a mole for the Northern communists. His homes are always in dispute.
