My Dad had dementia in his last few years. But he kept his interest in sports. He was deaf and had lost his hearing aids at some point, which made his dementia seem worse than it was. You could write questions, and he would answer.
And then they showed a replay and he cheered again, just the same. And, of course, they showed it again, and he cheered again.
