Iran is facing widespread street protests and multiple days of market closures as the national currency plunges and people chant anti-government slogans. Security forces responded with tear gas and batons to disperse crowds in Tehran and other cities. Economic conditions are characterized by sharp currency weakening and an accelerating shift toward dollarization, producing a bleak outlook for bazaars and prolonged instability. At the same time, a US–Israeli meeting raised the prospect of new Israeli military strikes over Iran's missile and nuclear programs, with indications of US support. Domestic unrest, collapsing economic fundamentals, and heightened external military threat are converging.
