Italo-Ethiopian Wars
Briefly

Italy, led by Mussolini, occupied Ethiopia from 1935 to 1941, driven by historical grievances and imperial aspirations rooted in the earlier defeat at Adwa in 1896. Despite initial setbacks, Italy sought to establish a colonial empire, beginning in the late 19th century with control over Eritrea and claiming a protectorate over Ethiopia through the Treaty of Wuchale. The invasion was positioned as a revenge for past humiliations and aimed at proving the strength of fascism in the face of Ethiopian resistance and instability.
Italy's ambition to establish a colonial empire in Ethiopia was rooted in both historical grievances and the desire for revenge following their defeat in 1896.
Mussolini's aim was not only territorial expansion but also the restoration of Italy's pride after the humiliation suffered at the Battle of Adwa.
