Israel has declared U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres persona non grata, criticizing him for not condemning Iran's missile attack against Israel strongly enough.
Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated: 'Anyone who cannot unequivocally condemn Iran's heinous attack on Israel...does not deserve to set foot on Israeli soil.'
Mr. Guterres has condemned Hamas's attack on October 7 and urged for the release of hostages, while also calling for a cease-fire in Gaza.
Following the Iranian missile attack, Guterres expressed concern about escalating conflict, stating: 'This must stop. We absolutely need a cease-fire.'
