The BBC Weather app experienced a glitch that resulted in wildly inaccurate forecasts, including 13,000 mph winds and 832-degree temperatures, leading to public concern and confusion.
BBC spokesperson said, 'The issue was with some of the weather data from our forecast provider, which is generating incorrect numbers and text on our BBC Weather app and website.'
Simon King, a BBC meteorologist, reassured users on social media to not panic over the erroneous reports, highlighting the absurdity of the predictions, such as 14,408 mph winds.
The forecasts mistakenly displayed unsafe weather conditions due to data issues from a third party, leading to an apology from the BBC and an ongoing effort to resolve the matter.
