Weather experts report that four storms—Yinxing, Toraji, Usagi, and Man-yi—are simultaneously active in the North Pacific and South China Sea, which is unprecedented for November.
This is the first time on record that four storms have occurred at the same time in November, previously, the most recorded was three, in 2009.
Current weather conditions have deviated from the norm, with areas of high pressure farther north, which contribute to abnormal storm activity.
Although a direct cause of increased storm activity hasn't been conclusively linked to global warming, rising sea surface temperatures may be a contributing factor.
