House Speaker Mike Johnson said US troops are not expected to deploy to Venezuela and that the US seeks a "change in behavior" from the Venezuelan government. Gunfire was reported near the Miraflores Palace in Caracas after a drone sighting. Congressional leaders were briefed by the Trump administration. Germany, France and the UK expressed support for Greenland after renewed US interest. Opposition leader María Corina Machado said she has not spoken to Trump since October 2025 and plans to return to Venezuela.
