Ukraine Hits Oil Facility Deep Inside Russia, Seeks To Reduce Kremlin's 'Ability To Fight'
"Both downed drones fell on the territory of the enterprise,"
"In the first case, a small fire broke out and was quickly extinguished. In the second, the supply of technical water was interrupted,"
"Our deep strikes will intensify -- financing and tasks for this are already in place. Diplomats are also actively working with all partners to reduce their trade ties with Russia. And we are coordinating our actions."
Ukraine struck deep inside Russia, with drones hitting a major oil refinery near Ufa roughly 1,400 kilometers from the front lines. Debris from two shot-down Ukrainian drones fell on the facility, igniting a small fire that was extinguished and interrupting the supply of technical water, while the plant continued operating and the nearby airport briefly suspended activity. Reuters reported strikes had disabled 17 percent of Russian oil refining capacity by the end of August. An unconfirmed drone strike later hit the Perm region over 1,500 kilometers from the border. Ukrainian leadership said deep strikes will intensify to reduce Russia's ability to fight.
