President Donald Trump said the U.S. may be having some discussions with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and indicated Venezuela would like to talk. Trump declined to provide details and added "What does it mean? You tell me, I don't know." The U.S. military has been striking vessels suspected of transporting drugs while deploying the USS Gerald R. Ford and other warships as part of Operation Southern Spear, a buildup of nearly a dozen ships and about 12,000 sailors and Marines. Southern Command posted a video of a strike that killed three men; strikes since early September have killed at least 83 people. Maduro faces U.S. narcoterrorism charges and says the U.S. is fabricating a war against him.
