Trump Claims He Cancelled Planned Attack on Iran at Request of Gulf States

Trump posted that he instructed the military not to carry out a scheduled attack of Iran the next day. He said serious negotiations were taking place and that a deal would be made soon between the U.S. and Iran. He attributed the postponement to requests from leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. He stated the deal would include no nuclear weapons for Iran. He also said that if an acceptable deal was not reached, the military must be prepared for a full, large-scale assault of Iran. His threats were accompanied by additional posts, including warnings about time running out and an AI-generated map showing fictitious Iranian cities. The ceasefire in the region remained shaky and attacks continued.

"Trump's frenetic social media posts come as the ceasefire, entering its seventh week, has remained shaky. Last week, Trump said that the ceasefire was on " life support." Across the region, the ceasefire has not meant an end to attacks."
