Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza risk their lives to document Israel's two-year war, enduring relentless bombing, displacement and profound personal loss. At least ten network staff have been killed since October 7, 2023. Gaza bureau chief Wael al-Dahdouh led early coverage as air strikes threatened the office; his wife, son, daughter and grandson were killed. Al-Dahdouh continued reporting from the rooftop until the danger forced him and his team to flee south. Correspondents reported from tents amid destruction while further colleagues, including Hamza, Samer Abudaqa, Ismail al-Ghoul and Anas al-Sharif, were later killed.
