A mass rally turned deadly when a bus drove into the crowd, crushing and killing an 18-year-old. Police detained the driver and opened an investigation; the driver alleged he had been assaulted by rioters before the incident. Police said a small group of rioters blocked traffic, damaged buses, set trash bins on fire, threw objects and eggs at officers, and assaulted journalists. Mass demonstrations against the conscription law have continued regularly in recent months.
