Micheál Martin announced that Ireland will prevent certain members of the Israeli government deemed instrumental in the Gaza disaster from entering the country. He urged United Nations members to employ all reasonably available means to prevent genocide and to use influence urgently and to maximum effect. He referenced a UN Human Rights Commission report that alleges genocide in Gaza and called on states providing materiel to Israel to reflect on the consequences. He described hunger being used as a weapon, with aid stalled and civilians, including babies, starving while seeking food.
