That threshold remains the same if you have fewer than two children, but increases by $500USD (around £368) for each additional child. To qualify, applicants must be 18 years or older, demonstrate they meet the income requirement, and confirm they work exclusively for clients outside Sri Lanka."
Sri Lanka launched a digital nomad visa in February 2026 that permits remote workers to reside on the island for up to one year while working for clients outside Sri Lanka. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and earn a minimum of $2,000 USD per month, with the threshold increasing by $500 USD for each additional child beyond two. Nomads may not accept employment with Sri Lankan companies. Required documentation includes a completed application, passport copy, photos, marriage and birth certificates for dependents, security and medical clearances, a recent police record, international health insurance, a Ministry of Digital Economy recommendation, and proof of remittances.
