"Punjab has declared all of its 23 districts flood-hit. The state's administration said on Tuesday that 30 people have died and some 350,000 people have been affected in what it deemed as one of the most widespread floods the region has seen in decades. In the capital, New Delhi, the Yamuna River was flowing above the danger mark. Over 10,000 people were evacuated on Tuesday night from low-lying areas around the river."

The situation sparked a massive social media outburst over poor infrastructure. People in low-lying areas along the Yamuna River in New Delhi were forced to leave their homes. Weather forecasts say that India-administered Jammu and Kashmir could see more rainfall in the next 24 hours."
Unrelenting rains have disrupted daily life across several northern Indian states. The weather agency issued a red alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, India-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and parts of Punjab. Educational institutions were ordered shut and private offices were advised to let employees work from home. Punjab declared all 23 districts flood-hit, reported 30 deaths and about 350,000 people affected. Over 10,000 people were evacuated from low-lying areas around the Yamuna in New Delhi, where the river flowed above the danger mark. Gurugram experienced severe waterlogging. Forecasts warn of more rain and continued risk of flash floods and landslides.
