U.N. data show about 673 million people do not eat enough each day. The use of hunger as a weapon of war was condemned as a moral atrocity. Suffering from hunger was characterized as a collective failure and ethical derailment. Cuts in funding to U.N. food aid agencies, including severe reductions affecting the World Food Program, threaten operations and risk forcing millions into emergency hunger.
