New Hulu documentary chronicles Amanda Knox's meetings with man who put her in prison for murder
"This entire story is me being conflicted with the question of like, how much do I want to hold onto the past when I am pushing to have a better future and a better relationship with my past,"
"When I began filming her as this idea of returning to Italy was put in front of her, I knew that something momentous was happening, but we didn't really know what. And it wasn't until she delivered that keynote speech in Italy and made a very public overture to the prosecutor that things really started driving toward that face-to-face meeting,"
"I was in prison and my opportunity to be a mother was stolen from me. And then when"
Amanda Knox returned to Italy and met Giuliano Mignini, the prosecutor who prosecuted her for Meredith Kercher's murder. The encounter was captured in Mouth of the Wolf: Amanda Knox Returns to Italy, filmed and directed by her husband Christopher Robinson. Knox was wrongly convicted in 2009, sentenced to 26 years, served four years, and was exonerated by Italy's highest court in 2015. An invitation to give a keynote for The Innocence Project prompted her return and a public overture to the prosecutor. Knox and Robinson married in 2020 and sought to start a family; she felt compelled to address the past and the lost opportunity to become a mother.
