Maduro "ready" to talk with U.S. on drug trafficking, won't comment on dock strike
"If they want to talk seriously about an agreement to combat drug trafficking, we are ready,"
"If they want Venezuelan oil, Venezuela is ready for U.S. investments like with Chevron, whenever they want, wherever they want, and however they want,"
"That might be a topic we discuss in a few days, in a second version of this podcast,"
"We're gonna keep it"
Venezuelan authorities offered cooperation on an agreement to combat drug trafficking and expressed readiness to accept U.S. investment in the oil sector, including operations with Chevron. Reports of a possible ground attack in Venezuela were neither confirmed nor denied and were deferred for potential further discussion. The U.S. military has struck more than 30 suspected drug boats in the Caribbean, resulting in over 100 deaths since September. The United States has designated Venezuela a foreign terrorist organization and ordered a blockade on U.S.-sanctioned oil tankers, threatening further economic damage and prompting assertions of retained seized oil.
