Israel has decided to stop all shipments of aid into Gaza, drawing global criticism over its move. Countries like Egypt and Qatar condemned this action, citing that using starvation as a tactic violates humanitarian law. Egyptian officials insisted that both parties must adhere to agreements regarding aid flow. With the first phase of a humanitarian deal having just expired, negotiations for the next phase—intended to release hostages in exchange for a ceasefire—have yet to commence, creating uncertainty in the ongoing conflict.
The use of aid as a weapon of collective punishment and starvation must not, cannot, or should not be allowed or accepted. This is completely unacceptable and represents a flagrant and explicit violation of international humanitarian law.
Regarding the second phase as I mentioned, each party must implement its obligations... This agreement must be implemented and includes the full flow of aid.
