Iran and senior officials from France, the United Kingdom and Germany met in Geneva to discuss renewing nuclear inspections aimed at preventing reinstatement of UN economic sanctions via the snapback mechanism. Iran's deputy foreign minister said Tehran remained committed to diplomacy and a mutually beneficial solution without elaborating on outcomes. The European Union participated as coordinator of the 2015 deal. Talks resumed after a 12-day conflict in mid-June when Israel struck Iran, which derailed negotiations and led Iran to suspend cooperation with the IAEA. The E3 have threatened to trigger the snapback before the October deadline.

The European Union, which serves as coordinator of the 2015 deal was also attending. Tuesday's meeting marked the second round of talks between Iranian and European diplomats since Israel struck Iran in a 12-day war in mid-June.
