If China wants Taiwan it should also reclaim land from Russia, says president

Lai Ching-te argued that if the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) truly valued territorial integrity, it should also seek to reclaim lands lost to Russia, not just Taiwan.

Lai pointed out that despite the CCP's narrative of territorial integrity concerning Taiwan, it has shown no intention of reclaiming territory lost to Russia under the treaty of Aigun.

He emphasized that the CCP's focus on Taiwan is not genuinely about restoring territorial integrity, but rather reflects a geopolitical strategy aimed at restructuring global influence.

Wen-ti Sung highlighted that Taiwan is a significant strategic island, and Beijing's ambitions for control over it are driven by desires for enhanced access and dominion over the Taiwan Strait.
