Elena Rybakina held her nerve to beat world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 and claim the Australian Open title, her second major after Wimbledon 2022. Rybakina entered the tournament after winning the WTA Finals and attributed renewed confidence to extensive work with her team through ups and downs. Coach Stefano Vukov, whose suspension was later lifted on appeal, received an on-court trophy in recognition of his work with her. Rybakina described the victory as a win for her entire team and expressed hope to maintain momentum throughout the season, while Sabalenka showed frustration but improved composure after the loss.
