"It's true that the sky has grown quieter, but beneath that calm lie wounded souls and cities reduced to rubble,"
"I truly hope that the ceasefire will last, because we are exhausted from having to start our lives from zero every time. But I'm also realistic."
A six-month Israeli bombardment and an invasion of Gaza City displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and left extensive destruction. A ceasefire phase led to Hamas releasing the remaining living Israeli hostages and Israel freeing nearly 2,000 Palestinians, though Israel continues to control over half of Gaza and large areas remain inaccessible. Many families face ruined homes, unexploded ordnance, shortages of basic necessities, disrupted education, and erratic internet that complicates studies. Some students resumed courses online and completed degrees despite displacement and demoralising conditions. Cautious hope and exhaustion coexist as communities confront the enormous task of rebuilding lives amid persistent uncertainty.
