Hamas has freed all 20 living hostages held in Gaza and Israel has released nearly 2,000 jailed Palestinians. US President Donald Trump signed documents finalizing a ceasefire plan for Gaza alongside mediators Egypt, Qatar and Turkey. More than 30 world leaders attended a peace conference in Egypt, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi said Egypt will coordinate with the United States and partners to lay the foundation for reconstruction and plans to host an early recovery, reconstruction and development conference. The World Bank and Egypt estimate Gaza reconstruction and recovery costs upward of $53 billion. Trump said rebuilding may be the easiest part and touted US construction capabilities.
