Donald Trump says 'massive armada' is heading to Iran and 'time is running out'
""Hopefully Iran will quickly 'Come to the Table' and negotiate a fair and equitable deal - NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS - one that is good for all parties. Time is running out, it is truly of the essence!" Trump wrote in a social media post. The Republican US president, who pulled out of a 2015 multination nuclear deal with Tehran during his first White House term, noted that his last warning to Iran was followed by a military strike."
""There was no contact between me and Witkoff in recent days and no request for negotiations was made from us," Araqchi told state media, adding that various intermediaries were "holding consultations" and were in contact with Tehran. "Our stance is clear, negotiations don't go along with threats and talks can only take place when there are no longer menaces and excessive demands.""
The US president urged Iran to quickly negotiate a fair, equitable deal with no nuclear weapons and warned of escalating military action, saying time is running out. He noted a prior warning was followed by a strike and warned a next attack would be worse, saying another "armada" was heading toward Iran. The US deployed additional military assets to the Gulf after nationwide protests in Iran and a violent crackdown. Iranian FM Abbas Araqchi said there was no recent contact with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and no request for negotiations, stressing talks cannot occur under threats or excessive demands. Iran's president told Saudi Arabia that Tehran welcomes any lawful process that prevents war.
