Denmark and Greenland reject President Trump’s bid to acquire Greenland and consider any plan that undermines the Kingdom’s territorial integrity and Greenlandic self-determination totally unacceptable. Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Greenland Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt met with U.S. officials including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President J.D. Vance for a frank but constructive conversation. Denmark affirmed willingness to cooperate with the U.S. and NATO on Greenland’s long-term security while insisting Greenland cannot be bought or conquered.
