U.S. authorities named Nicols Maduro Guerra as a defendant accused of narco-terrorism, cocaine importation, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and related conspiracies. Authorities allege he traveled internationally to secure cocaine and arms-trafficking deals for the Cartel of the Suns and helped manage aerial routes and state oil company planes used for trafficking. Allegations include loading a state oil company plane with 'large packets sealed with tape' and saying the plane could go wherever it wanted, including the United States. He publicly said his father and Cilia Flores de Maduro had been kidnapped and pledged family support to acting leader Delcy Rodriguez.
