Mahmoud Shurrab was a Gaza-based comedian and actor whose social media pages were popular for witty posts and skits. When war erupted, he repurposed his platform to mobilize humanitarian aid, distributing water, cooking oil, baby formula and helping set up tents in displacement camps. He traveled under bombardment to reach different areas and used donors abroad to fund relief. He sent his wife and daughter to safety in Egypt while remaining in Gaza. On June 21, an Israeli air attack struck the tent where he sheltered in al-Mawasi, killing him. He left behind his wife Lama Shubeir and their four-year-old daughter Dalal.
