Colombian President Gustavo Petro accused US government officials of committing murder and violating Colombian sovereignty after a US strike in territorial waters. Petro identified the deceased as fisherman Alejandro Carranza and asserted that Carranza had no ties to the drug trade. Petro said the Colombian boat was adrift with its distress signal active due to engine failure and called for explanations from the US government. President Trump claimed the US destroyed a drug-carrying semi-submersible loaded with fentanyl and other narcotics, shared a video clip, and reported four people aboard with two fatalities and two survivors taken into custody.
