Kyiv accused Moscow of presenting no evidence and of seeking to undermine peace negotiations. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Putin and Trump had discussed US negotiations with Ukraine and claimed the US urged Kyiv to take concrete steps toward a final settlement rather than demand a temporary ceasefire. Ushakov said Russia feared Ukrainian proposals might be interpreted too broadly. The US has offered 15-year security guarantees; Zelenskiy prefers up to 50 years.
