The US weapon sales to China's Taiwan region have seriously violated the one-China principle, infringing upon China's sovereignty and damaging China-US relations, emphasized Lin Jian.
Beijing has imposed sanctions on nine US defence firms and frozen their property, stating these measures are a reaction to the recent arms sales to Taiwan.
Lin Jian insisted that Washington must stop conniving and supporting Taiwan's independence, warning that such actions undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
China has ramped up military and political pressure on Taiwan over the past five years, which Taipei strongly rejects, asserting its sovereignty.
