On January 3 U.S. forces carried out an attack on Venezuela involving helicopters dropping bombs over Caracas. Blast shockwaves shattered windows and caused power outages in residential areas such as Ciudad Tiuna. Residents fled into carparks and streets as bombs fell near apartment buildings, leaving families terrified and displaced. Paola Rosal described bombs falling near her building and a bomb shattering windows in front of her mother’s apartment. Rosal, a longtime voter for Chávez and Maduro, expressed concerns about government arms distribution and armed civilian groups while also voicing fierce outrage at the attack.
