"The Khorramshahr missile, Iran's most advanced ballistic missile, is believed to be capable of carrying a cluster warhead dispersing up to 80 submunitions."
"Since the start of the war, Iran's cluster munitions, which disperse dozens of bomblets mid-air, have tested Israel's highly advanced, multi-tier missile defence network."
"Those attacks have killed at least nine people and wounded dozens, reflecting a broader shift in Iran's tactics that appears to have exposed a vulnerability in Israel's air defences."
On 5 March, a post on Ali Khamenei's X account showcased Iran's Khorramshahr missile, capable of carrying cluster warheads. Since the escalation of conflict on 28 February, Iran has launched numerous missiles, with half reportedly carrying cluster munitions. These attacks have resulted in casualties and highlighted vulnerabilities in Israel's missile defense systems. At least 19 ballistic missiles have penetrated Israeli airspace, killing nine and injuring many. The use of cluster munitions has tested Israel's Iron Dome and other defenses, revealing gaps in their interception capabilities.
