"Barron Trump, the youngest son of the US president, alerted police in London after witnessing a woman allegedly being attacked by a former boyfriend, possibly saving her life. Trump was on a video call a year ago with the woman, who cannot be named, when he saw Matvei Rumiantsev, a Russian citizen, repeatedly punch her, Snaresbrook crown court was told on Wednesday, according to reports. Minutes later, Trump phoned the police in a call that was played to the court."
"I just got a call from a girl I know. She's getting beaten up, he told the emergency operator at 2.23am on 18 January 2025. Trump, who was then 18, could be heard providing the woman's address and then said: It's really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up. Asked how he knew the woman, he replied: I met her on social media. She's getting really badly beat up and the call was about eight minutes ago, I don't know what could have happened by now."
"When police arrived at the woman's property, bodycam footage from the officers recorded her saying: I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump's son. One of the officers is heard saying: So apparently this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump's son. In the presence of the officers, the woman called Trump, who explained to them that he had seen her crying and being attacked during the earlier call. During cross examination, the woman said: He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment."
Barron Trump, then 18, phoned emergency services in London at about 2:23am on 18 January 2025 after seeing a woman he knew allegedly being attacked during a video call. He provided the woman's address and urged the operator that it was an emergency. Officers attending recorded the woman identifying herself as friends with Barron Trump and later calling him in their presence. Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, faces multiple charges including rape, intentional strangulation, perverting the course of justice, assault and actual bodily harm; he denies all charges. The woman said Trump's call helped save her life.
