Strong aftershocks injured at least ten people and increased fears of additional casualties and damage. Survivor Gul Rahim lost 63 family members, including his five-year-old daughter, and described houses collapsing at midnight. Most victims lived in wood and mud-brick homes along steep river valleys. The World Health Organization reported at least 6,700 homes destroyed as of September 3.
