The fertility rate shrank to 0.72 last year, down from 0.78 in the previous year, with a mere 230,000 children born, hinting at a population decrease to around 26 million by 2100.
Having and raising a child would cause problems for my career and I fear I would resent the child for that reason. And as a consequence, both the child and I would be unhappy.
