Breast Cancer Continues to Rise Among Younger Women, Study Finds
Briefly

Rates of breast cancer climbed by 1 percent annually from 2012 to 2021, with sharp increases among women under age 50 and among Asian American/Pacific Islander women.
The sharpest increases in young adults were among women in their 20s, whose rates increased by about 2.2 percent a year, with a low absolute risk of about 6.5 per 100,000.
While cancer is considered a disease of aging, the study reveals a troubling uptick in early-onset cancers, highlighting aggressive cases often missed due to age-based screening.
One in 50 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer by the age of 50, indicating a significant risk that remains concerning for various demographic groups.
