Minnesota captain Kendall Coyne Schofield got the Frost off to a fast start when she used assists from Kelly Pannek and Britta Curl-Salemme to score four minutes into the match in St. Paul, Minn. Ella Shelton found the net for the Sceptres to tie it late in the first period. Natalie Spooner and Savannah Harmon had assists."

Ella Shelton tied the game late in the first period with assists from Natalie Spooner and Savannah Harmon. Zanon's winner came 5:14 into the third with assists from Spooner and Emma Maltais. Toronto goalie Raygan Kirk made 19 saves while Minnesota's Maddie Rooney had 31 saves. Minnesota entered the season without Claire Thompson and Sophie Jaques, who now play for the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
