One in five women in Australia found to have experienced stalking most by a man they knew

According to the 2021-22 Personal Safety Survey, one in five women in Australia, or two million, have experienced stalking since age 15, frequently at the hands of known individuals.
Eighty-eight percent of women who reported stalking in the survey were stalked by a man, and 78% were stalked by someone they knew, most often a current or former partner.
