A study by Polish researchers, led by Michal Stefanczyk, investigates the longstanding question of why men find breasts attractive. The findings suggest that this preference is not a product of societal conditioning, but stems from biological instincts. The researchers examined two groups from the Dani tribe in Indonesia, one that grew up with topless women and another influenced by Western culture. Both groups displayed similar levels of arousal toward breasts, strengthening the argument that men are naturally inclined to prefer breasts regardless of societal changes.
Michal Stefanczyk stated that "what we can say is breasts are sexy - naturally so. Men like breasts," emphasizing that it is an innate biological attraction, not a societal one.
The study found that the attraction to breasts exists in both men from topless societies and those influenced by Western norms, indicating it is not a societal construct.
Both older Dani men, who grew up with topless women, and younger men, who experienced a shift to a more covered society, reported similar levels of breast-focused arousal.
The research debunked the notion that preference for breasts is a result of a patriarchal system, showing instead that men are biologically inclined to find breasts attractive.
