Google aims to find the most prominent Women in Search
"Google has proved that a Search engine increases people's access to information, to knowledge, and to opportunity. Free, unfettered access to information breaks down barriers, and levels the playing field for anyone with Internet connectivity. Google believes that Search should be as diverse as the 2.5 billion people it serves. And so it is our hope that this "Women in Search" initiative will not only celebrate successful women in the sector, but also inspire women starting out in their career."
"The official poll to nominate individuals will open on The Drum website on 8 March and will remain open for around two weeks, before an online vote to crown the most important women in search gets underway. The winner of Google's Women in Search poll will be announced at The Drum Search Awards innaugural ceremony in June, entries for which close today (6 March)."
Google will partner with The Drum to launch a 'Women in Search' initiative that highlights prominent women in the search marketing sector and encourages other women to consider search as a career path. The initiative emphasizes that Search increases access to information, knowledge, and opportunity, and that free access to information can level the playing field for those with Internet connectivity. An official nomination poll will open on The Drum website on 8 March for around two weeks, followed by an online vote to select the most important women in search. The winner will be announced at The Drum Search Awards inaugural ceremony in June.
