Gamecocks F Kitts to miss season with ACL tear
"We hate this first for Chloe, who has worked incredibly hard to become the best version of herself on the court this season,"
"Her teammates are capable of stepping up, and I know that her competitive fire and tenacity will be felt from the sidelines as she pours what she can into them to ensure our team's success."
"Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support," Kitts wrote on an Instagram post. "While this isn't how I expected my senior season would go, I'm trusting God's timing and purpose. I'll continue to lead, support and push my team from the sidelines. We have big things ahead!"
Chloe Kitts, a 6-foot-2 senior starting forward for South Carolina, suffered a torn ACL in her right knee and will miss the 2025-2026 season. Surgery is expected to occur this week. Kitts started the past two seasons for the Gamecocks, contributing to the 2024 national championship and the subsequent NCAA final appearance. Last season she started 38 games, averaging 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds, and earned MVP honors in the SEC tournament and the Birmingham 2 Regional. Kitts has been projected as a first-round WNBA draft pick but could either enter the draft or return for another college season. She posted on Instagram expressing gratitude, trust in God's timing, and a commitment to support the team from the sidelines.
