""I would have loved for our group to have shown the emotion that they showed in the scrum at the end of the game all the way through," added Montreal head coach Kori Cheverie. "Because that is the type of fight, grit, passion, determination, fight tooth and nail for absolutely everything. Nothing is given in this league. You have to earn absolutely every inch of ice. The New York Sirens defeated the Montreal Victoire 2-1 at Capital One Arena during the PWHL Takeover Tour in Washington, D.C. Montreal pushed for a game-tying goal through the final seconds, and a line brawl erupted in front of the Sirens' net after the final buzzer. PWHL rules restrict certain bodychecking and can lead to ejections for fighting, making the scrum unusual. Four players from each team received 10-minute misconducts, and New York's Taylor Girard received an additional 20-minute penalty for leaving the bench. Officials separated the players, who then completed a handshake line and posed together at center ice.
