Australia captain, women's cricket great Alyssa Healy to retire
"It's with mixed emotions that the upcoming India series will be my last for Australia."
"I'm still passionate about playing for Australia, but I've somewhat lost that competitive edge that's kept me driven since the start, so the time feels right to call it a day."
"I'll genuinely miss my teammates, singing the team song and walking out to open the batting for Australia."
Alyssa Healy will retire from international cricket after the multi-format series against India, comprising three ODIs and one Test in February and March. The 35-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has been a key member of Australia for 15 years, debuting for Australia in 2010 and in Tests in January 2011. Healy scored 3,563 ODI runs with seven centuries and 3,054 T20 runs with one century, and she completed 275 dismissals behind the stumps. Healy holds the record for most women's T20I dismissals with 126. She was part of two ODI World Cup wins and six T20 World Cup titles, became full-time captain in 2023, and led Australia to a 16-0 whitewash of England. Healy had previously retired from T20 internationals.
