One Sebastopol-based winery, Iron Horse Vineyards, produces a special sparkling wine called 'Dragon' each year to honor Lunar New Year. The wine is a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir grown on the estate. Iron Horse is known for its celebrated sparkling wines and has been served at the White House for 38 years. 'Dragon' is the winery's second vintage of the special sparkling wine made for export to China.
"It's a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir grown here on the estate," said Joy Sterling, the Partner and CEO of Iron Horse.
Iron Horse Vineyards, a family-owned and pioneering estate winery, is celebrating Lunar New Year by releasing a special vintage brut called 'Dragon.' The winery, known for its celebrated sparkling wines, has been serving its wine at the White House for 38 years. The 'Dragon' brut is the winery's second vintage made for export to China.
"Our wine has been served at the White House for 38 years," expressed Sterling. "We are all about evolution...if we can think of one thing to do that's exciting, exhilarating, stimulating, and delicious, then we're just going to go for it."
