A year after closing, Flight Wine Bar owners Swati Bose and Kabir Amir launched Flight Wine Shop in National Landing, marking a strategic pivot from bar to retail. While the original wine bar offered themed flights and cocktails, the new shop focuses on sustainable and native wines featuring minimal intervention. Operated by the same dedicated staff, the shop aims to create an approachable wine experience through tastings and discounts, leveraging the couple's ten years of industry experience to curate a thoughtful selection of wines.
We had some good months and good quarters, but we were never really able to recover, says Bose. Now, they're is back- not as an intimate bar, but instead as a carefully curated shop.
It was really overwhelming and intense, but 10 years down the road, I think we've got much more experience, reflects Bose on their journey from bar to shop.
Wine grapes that are grown in their native place are the best expressions of those wines, states Bose, emphasizing the shop's focus on native wines.
They hope to deliver the same experience through weekly tastings and discounts, preserving their mission of making wine feel more approachable.
