The issue is that your page can't change the value of a media feature; media features describe the medium (device, browser, user preferences), not something that can be altered.
While the 'overflow' CSS property can be manipulated by developers, the 'overflow' media feature (and its split versions) remains unchangeable, as it describes how the device handles overflow.
