Although the catacombs intended for the dead were envisioned as a successful feature, they ultimately fell short, with only about 500 of thousands of places being sold.
The annual open day allows visitors to explore the cemetery’s catacombs, showcasing the unique architecture and the history behind one of London's notable burial sites.
